DCLM Daily Manna – Freedom After Servitude [14th June, 2019]

Topic: Freedom After Servitude
Text: Deuteronomy 15:12-23 (KJV)
Key Verse: “And if thy brother, an Hebrew woman man or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee”(Deuteronomy 15:12).
MESSAGE:
Freedom is the desire and heart-cry of every living being. A slave freed by his master is given the absolute opportunity to express himself as a free citizen of the nation. No wonder there is continuous agitation for freedom in all nations and in every sphere of life. Unfortunately, many who are struggling and fighting for social, political and economic emancipation today are slaves to sin. True freedom comes from God.
The text spells out the law of servitude and the condition for freedom. The release of slaves in Israel was to be done every seven years. During this period, no Israelite must be enslaved permanently either because of debt or a rash decision, except by personal choice (verse 16). Those who willingly submitted themselves for perpetual service would have their ears bored as a sign of permanent servitude and commitment to their masters. Those released were to be sent out with adequate provision to live normal lives (verse 14).
The statutes given to Israel were to regulate their dealing with the less-privileged in the society. Hebrew slaves were treated as humans and not properties. The plan of God for those who are enslaved by the devil through so-called ancestral curses, bad habits, sins of smoking, drunkenness, fornication, immorality, drug abuse, lying, occultism, afflictions and sickness is to set them free. Christ Jesus paid the redemptive price so that all slaves to sin, Satan and sickness can be freed. Are you enslaved by perpetual bad habit, besetting sins, sickness, affliction, ancestral bondage? You can be free from any and every bondage today if you allow Christ to set you free. Christ has paid for your freedom. He is our sin-Bearer, our Healer, Sanctifier, Baptizer and coming King. Come to Him for total freedom from sin, self and Satan and enjoy the benefits of redemption.
Thought For The Day: Real freedom comes from Christ.

DCLM Daily Manna – When Leaders Go Wrong [7th June, 2019]

Topic: When Leaders Go Wrong

Text: Lamentations 4:13-22 (KJV)

Key Verse: "And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which should not be done, and are guilty" (Lamentations 4:13).

MESSAGE:

The sad thing about the errors in leadership is the spiral effects such have on the group of people he is leading. It is not only the leader that suffers the consequences of his sins. Everyone down the line of his leadership gets to feel the impact of such misdeed. This is why leadership is such a huge responsibility that everyone must handle with utmost care.

The destiny of the people rests squarely on the shoulders of the leaders.
Prophet Jeremiah laments over the punishment that would come upon the nation because of the erring leadership of the priests and prophets. Instead of keeping true to their calling of upholding moral rectitude of the preaching and teaching of the sound word of God, they became corrupted and slipped into a life of sin with the rest of the people. For this reason, both they and the possible would not escape the judgment of God.

Leadership responsibility calls for firmness of purpose. The leader has the responsibility to guide his personal life as well as those of the people he has been called to lead. He must make sure that his lifestyle and examples will not send the wrong signals. He must understand what he has been called upon to do and must adhere to it, not allowing pressure of any kind to allow him derail. Most often, leaders fail because they yield to the pressures of the people they lead.

Everything rises and falls on leadership. When things go wrong, it is the leaders that take the blame. It is not in everything and in every case that the voice of the people reflects the voice of God. If the so-called popular demands of your family members, congregation or subordinates run contrary to the firm demand of God's standard, you must take your stand on God's word.

Thought For The Day:
When leaders go wrong, everything goes bad!
