Rhapsody Of Realities Devotional – He Doesn't Take Away By Death [15th July, 2019]

Topic: He Doesn’t Take Away By Death
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death (1 Corinthians 15:26).
In most religious circles, when funerals are being conducted, it’s common to hear the officiating minister say, “The Lord has given, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the Name of the Lord.” But the Lord doesn’t “take away” by death. He’s the giver or author of life, and death isn’t from Him.
The Bible lets us know that death is an enemy, and refers to it as the last enemy that shall be destroyed. However, it’s already been defeated as the scriptures show us.
God never takes anybody away by death. The only people He took away from this world, He took them alive. Enoch, the Bible says, walked with God and suddenly, he was taken away from the earth by the Spirit of God—alive into heaven (Genesis 5:24). Elijah was also taken away alive (read 2 Kings 2:11).
What about Jesus? He too was taken away alive! And for those who believe in Him, they’re going to be taken away alive. Hallelujah! 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 says, “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” This is how God “takes away”; it’s not by death. It’s called a translation.
Moreover, those whom God took away knew ahead of time. Enoch, the Bible says, before his translation, had the testimony that he pleased God. Elijah knew he was to be taken away and he discussed it with Elisha (2 Kings 2:9-11). The Lord Jesus was in a meeting with His disciples, after discussing with them, He levitated (Acts 1:9). He had told them He was going to leave that way.
For the rest of us, we’ll have the same witness in our spirits that our departure is very close, so much so, we’ll be talking about it. There’ll be an urgency in the spirit and we’ll preach the Gospel with greater fervency, compelling men to believe in Jesus Christ. While we’re at it, suddenly, the trumpet will sound, and we’ll all be taken out of this world. Glory to God!
PRAYERThank you, precious Father, for you have abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Thank you for granting me eternal life in Christ, by which I live eternally in your presence, and for your glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Rhapsody Of Realities Devotional – The Church is Called "The Way" [7th July, 2019]

Topic: The Church Is Called “The Way”
And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter againstthe disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way … (Acts 9:1-2).
From the underlined portion of the scripture above, we see that the Church was already being called “The Way” in the days of the apostles. It’s very interesting that the Church would be called “the way,” after Jesus said in John 14:6, “…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
This shows our inextricable oneness with Him. As He is, so are we in this world. We are today, the WAY to the Father, the WAY to His presence. Hallelujah! In Acts 22:4, the Apostle Paul, while narrating his persecution of the Church, said, “I persecuted the followers of this Way to their death, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison” (NIV). Then again, in Acts 24:14, he said, “However, I admit that I worship the God of our fathers as a follower of the Way, which they call a sect…” (NIV).
They called the early Church, “The way.” The Lord describing Himself said, “I am the way” (John 14:6)! A new and living way was revealed in Jesus; and because we’re now the bearers of His message, we’ve become the way.
This is too much for the religious mind, but it’s what the Word shows. We’re the way to the Father! We’re not only to show men the presence of God, but also ordained to usher them in. Blessed be God! Obadiah 1:21 says, “And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.”
Note: it doesn’t say, “A saviour shall come up on mount Zion.” Rather, it says, “Saviours,” meaning there’d be many saviours from Zion, and we—the Church—are the saviours from Zion. We’re bearers of the divine order, carriers and dispensers of eternal verities. Praise God forevermore!
PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank you for qualifying me to be an ambassador of Christ, showing men and women the way to the Kingdom. I recognize that I’m the hope and light of the world; I function in this ministry of reconciliation with everything that I am and with all that I have, ushering many in my world into the Kingdom, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Rhapsody Of Realities Devotional – The Right Time To Fast And Pray [6th July, 2019]

Topic: The Right Time To Pray And Fast

Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? (Matthew 9:14).
In admonishing His disciples on fasting, the Lord Jesus cautioned, “Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward” (Matthew 6:16). The Lord’s remark was both thought-provoking and enlightening.

In the preceding verse 15, He had said, “…Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.” Here, He was referring to Himself returning to the Father in heaven. Moreover ever since His ascension, the Church has fasted—the disciples and apostles of the early Church fasted. Prayer and fasting have been part of our spiritual activity as Christians. We fast when necessary. “When is it necessary to fast?” someone might ask.

First, when your local church or congregation proclaims a prayer and fasting programme, that’s a time to fast. Never isolate yourself from such a call, because it’s part of our corporate fellowship. There’re things we do corporately, such as corporate worship, and many other things that are intended for spiritual growth and edification; prayer and fasting are among them.

Secondly, when you choose to fast and pray, or the Holy Spirit leads you to do so, don’t ignore it. That’s another great opportunity, especially if it’s the Spirit guiding you; and you’ll know when He’s the One leading you to fast.
Some people schedule prayer and fasting as a means for their own spiritual exercise, and that’s excellent. So, in whichever way and at whatever time you’re guided to fast, take it seriously. Make fasting and praying a part of your personal spiritual routine.

If, in your local assembly, the announcement is made for a praying and fasting session, don’t unilaterally decide you’re not going to be a part of it. Don’t, on your own, choose when you’ll break your fast. That’ll be wrong. Be disciplined to always get involved, being aware that the benefits are essential to your spiritual growth (1 Timothy 4:8).

Remember that through fasting and praying, your effectiveness in the things of the Spirit are improved. Your ability to hear and receive from God is sharpened, and you’re more attuned to the finer signals and instruction of the Spirit that you need for a higher level of life; a life of continuous glory and success!

CONFESSIONI’m sensitive to the leading of the Spirit, and His guidance in my life for my spiritual growth and development. My acts of service in the house of God will inspire commitment, growth and development of younger Christians, such that there will be no cause for stumbling for them, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Rhapsody Of Realities Devotional– Get A "Word-Bath" [5th July, 2019]

Topic: Get A "Word-Bath"

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you (John 15:3).

Imagine a Christian waking up in the morning and turning on the TV to discover that the programme airing happens to be "Pastor Chris Teaching." He gives it full attention till the end and then the next programme comes up, this time, it's an unwholesome one for a Christian. Even so, he continues to watch.

When he's done watching this, and several others after it (all with unwholesome contents), he's too tired to pray or study the Word. He feels condemned and even begins to feel too "dirty" to go to church, thinking he'd need to "clean up" first. He could start praying, "Oh God, please revive me."
For this Christian, it's now very necessary to go to Church! His unedifying action could slow down his progress spiritually if it continues, but he needs an urgent Word-bath! No one is ever "too dirty" for God. In our opening verse, Jesus said, "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you" (John 15:3).

It's the ministry of the Word to cleanse you of sin, guilt, and all unrighteousness. So, don't stay at home when you ought to be in Church because you thought you did something wrong that made you "too dirty" for God. Go to Church! He'll clean you up! He does it through the Word.

Jesus didn't come for perfect men. Rather, He came to make men perfect. He specializes in changing imperfect people and bringing them to perfection. He raised an "unstable" person like Peter and transformed an injurious personality like Paul, who both became mighty apostles of the Gospel. If He'd do that, then He can cleanse and train you to become the best of you for His glory.
Submit yourself to the cleansing power of God's Word. Study and meditate on the Scriptures. You might say, "But I don't know where to begin to even read the Bible." This devotional gives you a head start. Keep studying it, including all the indicated scriptural references.

In addition, meticulously follow either the one-year or two-year daily Bible-reading plan. Before long, you'll see a remarkable transformation in your life, and those around you will also attest to the grace and glory of God evident in your life. Praise God!

CONFESSIONSin has no dominion over me. I walk in perfection and excellence, producing works and fruits of righteousness. The Word of God has the mastery over my mind, and I have the victory over sin and its attendant consequences. I live triumphantly, walking in righteousness and in the wisdom of Christ. Blessed be God!

Rhapsody Of Realities Devotional – We're One In Christ [4th July, 2019]

Topic: We're One With Christ

And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks (Acts 9:3-5).

The scripture passage above is a clear reference to the inextricable oneness of Christ and the Church. Before his conversion, Saul wreaked havoc in the early Church and persecuted Christians everywhere, until he had an encounter with the Lord, who intercepted him and asked, "…Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?"
Jesus intimately identifies Himself with the Church. Read again, His words to the injurious Saul of Tarsus in our opening Scripture. The Master didn't say, "Saul, why persecutest thou my followers?" Rather, He took it personal, because we're of the same stock with Him. An attack on the Church is an attack on Jesus, because He's the Vine, and we (the Church) are the branches. We have His very life; He brought us into union with Himself.

Always remember that anything you do for, or against the Church is unto Christ. Persecuting the Church is persecuting Jesus, because He's the head of the Church: "And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence" (Colossians 1:18). The head and the body go by the same Name—Christ! Thus, we're members of the body of Christ.
Being born again, you've been baptized into the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:27 says, "Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular."

As a member of the body of Christ, you don't answer a name that's different from that of the head or of the body, which is Christ. This is to help you see who you are, where you are, and what you have; you're one with Christ.
When He was raised from the dead, you were raised up together with Him. Now that He's seated on the throne, you're seated together with Him in the place of dominion, glory and authority. Therefore, rule the world and dominate your environment with the glory of Christ!

CONFESSIONI'm seated together with Christ in the place of dominion, glory and authority, reigning and ruling over circumstances and situations, dominating my world by the power of the Holy Ghost! Glory to God forever!

Rhapsody Of Realities Devotional – Christ Our "Redemption" [1st July, 2019]

Topic: Christ Our "Redemption"

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace (Ephesians 1:7).

The word, "redemption" in the verse above is translated from the Greek , "apolutrosis," which means deliverance, redemption, and more importantly, riddance. While these are synonyms of "apolutrosis," it's important to understand riddance in the context.

The Bible says, "And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me" (Psalm 50:15). That's God assuring His people of deliverance. But now, He has become your riddance, meaning that it doesn't matter what trouble you get into; He plucks you out; He'll rid you of that trouble.

Proverbs 12:13 says, "…But the righteous shall come out of trouble" (ASV). That means the righteous may or could get into trouble, but there's a guarantee of deliverance: Christ! Christ is his deliverance! The mess you're in could have been self-inflicted or a result of misjudgements; Christ is your assurance that you're coming out of the trouble, because He's your riddance. Glory to God!
Christ being your redemption (riddance) means He makes up for your errors.

Every mistake, every sin, has been laid to His charge. He's obligated to save you. He'll help you out of any quagmire, not because you earned it by your works or efforts, but because you have a ransom in Christ Jesus. He plucks your feet out of the miry clay (Psalm 40:2). Hallelujah!

So, when you make a mistake or get into trouble, be bold to call on Him. He's not intimidated by your troubles. No wonder the Psalmist said, "But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble" (Psalm 59:16). He's your deliverance and your Deliverer; your Rescuer; the One who plucks you out of trouble. Glory to His Name forevermore!

CONFESSION
I have my riddance in Christ. It doesn't matter what troubles come my way; it doesn't matter what adversities I face; they're of no effect, because Christ is my riddance. He plucks my feet out of the miry clay. Praise God!

Rhapsody Of Realities Devotional– Your Speech Controls Your Life

Also Read Yesterday's Devotional: Christ Our "Redemption"
Topic: Your Speech Controls Your Life
For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body (James 3:2).
Christian perfection or maturity is expressed chiefly in your mouth—your communication. If you want to go in the right direction in life, your tongue is the compass. If you offend in words, that is, if your communication is unwholesome, your life will be in jeopardy. Your speech controls you.
Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue….” Jesus said, “…out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh” (Matthew 12:34). So, through your thoughts, your character is formed, but it’s expressed in your talk, in your words. Meaning, your thinking is your character; but your “talking” is your life. That’s how important your words are.
Romans 10:10 says, “…with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” It’s a principle. God said to Joshua, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night…” (Joshua 1:8).
Meditate on the Word of God; keep it in your mouth. That means keep affirming the Word. No matter what’s happening around you, speak the Word. The Bible says, “When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up…” (Job 22:29). Again, the emphasis is on what you say.
When things are rough and tough, you’re not to wait to be lifted; you have a lifting power; it’s in your mouth. With your mouth, you catapult yourself from obscurity to greatness! You lift yourself from the thraldom of inflation, austerity and lack to abundance. It’s about what you say! Declare that you’re supremely blessed, prosperous and walking in financial abundance, and your life will gravitate in that direction.
What is it that you want? It’s all in your mouth. Say it, and you’ll have it! That’s what Jesus said in Mark 11:23: “For verily I say unto you…whosoever shall say…and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Blessed be God!
CONFESSIONMy speech is modelled in line with God’s thoughts and direction for my life. I declare that prosperity, victory, success, growth and financial abundance are the hallmarks of my life. Amen!

Rhapsody Of Realities Devotional – He Speaks To You In "Spirit Language" [30th June, 2019]

Read Yesterday's Devotional, Click HERE

Topic: He Speaks To You In "Spirit Language"

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me (John 10:27).

Oftentimes, when we say God spoke to us, there're those who wonder, "What language does He speak?" They want to know how they too can hear God. God is a Spirit, and He speaks to your spirit. What you have to learn is to listen to Him with your heart—your spirit.

Being born again, and having received the Holy Spirit, you're one with the Lord. He's come to dwell within you and has mingled with your spirit. The Bible says, "But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit" (1 Corinthians 6:17). Thus, His voice in your spirit will be unmistakable. All you have to do is listen from within. He knows every language. He can talk to you in any language.

The most important thing about God speaking to you isn't the language He spoke; it's whether your spirit received the words. He speaks to you in "spirit language," because He talks to your spirit. Your mind is what relates with language.

Language is created with sound for your intellect. But God isn't a mind, neither does He appeal to your mind. He doesn't need your reasoning faculties to communicate with you. As a result, He doesn't need to put His message in a language for your intellect.

When He speaks to you in any human language, if you don't receive the message from your spirit, it may have no impact or meaning. It has to get to your spirit. If you only got the words in your mind, you may even forget what He said, but your spirit can remember.

Moreover, when God speaks to you, your spirit will at once light up and bear witness that He's the One talking to you. It's like what Jesus said in our opening verse, "My sheep hear my voice…."
Train your spirit to be a sure-guide and a dependable receptacle of God's words and signals. Activate your spirit by speaking in tongues frequently. Also, it's very important that you learn the Word of God, because He never says anything outside His Word. Praise God!

CONFESSION
Dear Father, I thank you for the ability to hear and recognise your voice. As you speak to me from the Word and counsel me from within, I respond to your guidance, promptings, and instructions, and receive the corresponding blessings, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Rhapsody Of Realities Devotional – Have The Consciousness Of Life [29th June, 2019]

Topic: Have The Consciousness Of Life
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed (1 Corinthians 15:51).
Some people think death is from God; they think God created life and created death. But it’s not true. When they read such things as, “I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things” (Isaiah 45:7), they get carried away by the words of the prophet, who spoke symbolically. When you want to understand the truth, you go over to the New Testament.
Hebrews 2:14 says, “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil. ” The devil had the power of death! And in 1 Corinthians 15:26, the Bible says, “The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” Death is an enemy. So, it’s only those who don’t understand the Word that say, “We’ll all die one day.”
Our theme verse says, “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep ….” The underlined portion shows that everybody isn’t going to die. This is a mystery to the world; it’s difficult for some people to understand. Therefore, they’re quick to quote Hebrews 9:27 which reads, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” But God didn’t make this a promise. The next verse says, “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation” (Hebrews 9:28).
In essence, it’s telling us that because it was appointed unto man to die, and afterwards, face judgement, Jesus Christ died once, for every man. So, man doesn’t have to die again and again. There’s no need for more sacrifices for sins.
Now that you’re born again, you have everlasting life; you’ve been brought from humanity to eternity, which means you’ve become incorruptible, indestructible, imperishable, not subject to failure, not subject to death! This should be your consciousness, a consciousness of life, not death. Glory to God!
CONFESSIONI have the life of God in me, for as He is, so am I in this world! I’ve been brought from humanity to eternity, thus making me superhuman. I’m alive, and I’m incorruptible, indestructible, imperishable; death has no power over me! Glory to God!

Rhapsody Of Realities Devotional – We Reign And Rule By The Word [28th June, 2019]

Topic: We Reign And Rule By The Word
When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person (Job 22:29).
Christianity is a life of champions. We're not of them that fail. No matter what happens in your life, failure isn't a possibility, until and unless you let it. As long as you choose to win; as long as you choose to succeed; as long as you choose victory, that's what you'll have.
What you need is to set your focus on the Lord and His eternal Word. Learn to see God and God alone. See the invisible, and you'll do the impossible! When your focus is on Him and His Word, you don't see shadows. You see and hear Him only, and nothing else matters.
With the Word in you, you just know you're different, and that circumstances and situations will always turn out in your favour. That's because you're peculiar. You're not of this world. You're not from the lineage of the fallen man, the "earthly" man; you're a new "creature," a new kind of man (2 Corinthians 5:17); an associate of the God-kind. But if you don't know it, you'll suffer what mere men suffer, and live like a servant, whereas you're a king-priest, and a prince of power with God.
When you know the Word, you're able to walk in your inheritance, rights and privileges in Christ. You enjoy the greater glories and treasures of Christ. What has kept many bound and hindered them from walking in the riches of the glory of their inheritance in Christ is ignorance.
Refuse to be ignorant. Know the Scriptures for yourself. Study and meditate until the Word gains the ascendancy in you, instilling in you a new mind-set. That way, irrespective of the challenges and adversities, you'll respond with the Word. And when you respond with the Word, you win! That's how God's champions live; they live in and by the Word. We reign and rule by the Word. Hallelujah!
CONFESSIONThanks be unto God who leads me in glory and eternal triumph over the circumstances of life in and by the Word. I'm prosperous and victorious in Christ, now and evermore. Amen.

Rhapsody Of Realities Devotional – Born Into The Kingdom Of Light [27th June, 2019]

Topic: Born Into The Kingdom Of Light

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light (1 Peter 2:9).

Jesus said, "…Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3). The Kingdom of God is the kingdom of light; it's the kingdom of life. And until a man is born again, he's not a part of the life or light of the Kingdom; he abides in darkness.
This is the reason Jesus said in John 3:7, "…Ye must be born again." The one who isn't born again is in Satan's domain, and can't see God's Kingdom. He can't even understand it, for He's not in fellowship with God.

It doesn't matter that two people are identical twins; if one is born again and the other isn't, one is in the kingdom of light, and the other one is in the kingdom of darkness. For anyone to come into the light of God, have His life and nature, and become one with Him, he must be born again.

Being born again, Colossians 1:13 says God has "…delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. " From the time that Adam sinned against God in the Garden of Eden, darkness came into this world, and man became alienated from the life of God; completely cut off from the light of God. But the moment you proclaimed Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, you received eternal life and woke up in the kingdom of light, in oneness with God!

Our theme verse shows your present location: God's marvellous light. Now you walk in the light, as He is in the light. His light has become your light, just as the psalmist prophesied: "For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light " (Psalm 36:9). Hallelujah!
Being born into God's Kingdom means you've been brought out of sin, sickness, disease, depression, poverty, frustrations and everything associated with Satan and darkness, into God's eternal glory—where you reign in life by grace, through righteousness. No darkness at all. Glory to God!

CONFESSION
I'm a new creation in Christ Jesus, born with the nature of God in my spirit. I've been born into the Kingdom of light; therefore, I shine and reign gloriously in life, by grace, through righteousness. My journey in life is one of glory, triumph, success, prosperity, and blessed assurance. Hallelujah!

Rhapsody Of Realities Devotional – We Walk In Blessings Only [26th June, 2019]

Topic: We Walk In Blessings Only

Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought (Numbers 23:23).

There're Christians who have come to the conclusion that their predicament is the result of a curse working against them. They're thus going around seeking deliverance from so-called ancestral or other curses. Such Christians, consciously or inadvertently, have been deceived.

The Christian is superior to Satan and everything of darkness, and therefore can't be under a curse.
The Bible says, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…" (2 Corinthians 5:17). You've been born anew, called to inherit a blessing, not a curse: "…ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing" (1 Peter 3:9).

Read God's promise to Abraham in Genesis 12:3: "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." Blessings are at work in you, because you're the seed of Abraham. No one can bewitch you or cast a spell on you.

If you were told that someone was trying to charm you, you don't even have to pray for it not to work. You can neither be charmed nor cursed. There's no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel. This is your heritage as the seed of Abraham.

Did you say there's someone somewhere scheming against you, your family, or your job? Don't panic. Don't fret. Their schemes against you can't work. They should take a cue or learning from Balaam of the Old Testament. After several futile attempts to enchant and curse Israel, he submitted, "No magic spells can bind Jacob, no incantations can hold back Israel…" (Numbers 23:23 MSG).

Balaam couldn't lay a curse on them, because they were God's people; and today, we're living out better promises. You walk in blessings only, and only the blessed Word of the Lord can come to pass in your life. Even the demons know who you are. There's a mark on you; you're branded for God; sealed for blessings. Glory to God!

CONFESSIONI'm branded for God, and there's no enchantment against me! I'm blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. I'm conscious of this truth and the authority I have over all principality, power, and the rulers of the darkness of this world! I walk in blessings only! In Christ, I'm secure and fortified against all machinations of the enemy. Glory to God!

Rhapsody Of Realities Devotional – We Always Win

Topic: We Always Win

And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt:
but God was with him, And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour… (Acts 7:9-10).

As God's children, we're never disadvantaged. Everything in life, every situation we find ourselves, can only work to our advantage. Consider the story of Joseph. Everywhere he went, he prospered. He was described as a prosperous man, despite being a slave in Potiphar's house. What made the difference in his life was God's presence.

Genesis 39:2 says, "And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man…." God's presence, Christ in you, is your advantage; that's your assurance for victory. 1 John 4:4 says, "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." The reason we win, and would always win, is Christ in us; the greater One in us. Hallelujah!

I mean, think about it: Joseph was eventually unjustly sent to prison, due to false accusations from Potiphar's wife. Yet, in prison, the Bible says, "…the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison" (Genesis 39:21). The Bible doesn't say you might not get into trouble; but the Lord's assurance is that in the midst of the trouble, you'll prevail. He'll rid you of that trouble, because He's with you, and in you.

Nothing compares to Christ in us! That's our confidence and assurance for a triumphant and prosperous life. Christ in you means you can never be disadvantaged, irrespective of the situation or circumstance that you may find yourself. Right in that seeming dungeon, He'd cause you to triumph.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 2:14, "Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ…." This is your life. This is your story: one of endless victories and persistent progress and productivity in Christ Jesus.

It makes no difference the challenges you might be facing at home, in your workplace, etc.; be comforted! Christ in you will put you over and turn things around in your favour. Therefore, rejoice, because come what may, you'll always win.

CONFESSION
I'm surrounded with God's favour as a shield, and positioned by His grace for a life of peace and total prosperity! I win every day, because I live by the faith of Jesus Christ. His divine power has given me everything I require for life and godliness, and I know it. Therefore, I rejoice in my victories, prosperity, and blessed life in Christ. Hallelujah!

Rhapsody Of Realities Devotional – It's Not Enough To Be "God-Fearing"

Topic: It's Not Enough To Be "God-Fearing"

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again (John 3:7).

Sometimes, there're those who are described by others as "godly" or "god-fearing," even though they're not born again. But being godly or god-fearing isn't the same as being born again.

In Acts 10, we find a most interesting case of conversion, the conversion of Cornelius, a very "godly" man. In fact, the Bible says he was a "devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always" (Acts 10:2). What an amazing description!

He was benevolent, liberal and "god-fearing"; consistent and persistent in his prayer life. He was a just man (Acts 10:22). And he even saw visions: "He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him…" (Acts 10:3). Yet, he wasn't saved; he wasn't born again. An angel had to tell him, "And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter…he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do" (Acts 10:5-6).

In our opening verse, Jesus didn't mince words when He spoke to Nicodemus. He said, "Ye must be born again." He didn't say if you're "god-fearing," it's okay. He used the term, "born again" to express the necessity for man's spiritual rebirth. Sometimes we encounter such people as Cornelius. They have a good reputation and moral character; but being well-spoken of by others doesn't merit God's salvation.

This is why we preach the Gospel. The Gospel is about Jesus Christ; it's not about what you have done, or what you haven't done. It's about Christ and what He's done for you, which if you'd accept was enough, then salvation is yours. The Bible says, "And by him (Jesus) all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses" (Acts 13:39).

In case you're like Cornelius today reading this, you need to receive words by which you can be saved. Those words are in Romans 10:9. It says, "…if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." This is the Bible way to receive salvation.

PRAYERDear heavenly Father, I'm forever grateful for the salvation of my soul, having confessed with my mouth, the Lord Jesus, and believed in my heart that you raised Him from the dead. And today, I pray for the unsaved around the world, that the light of this glorious Gospel will shine in their hearts, for salvation, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
