How To Live For Jesus In This Sinful World

In a world that's is plunging deeper and deeper into overwhelming depths of sin, immorality, wickedness and perversions it is become entirely more difficult to truly live for Jesus.

Many school of thought claim we're the most privilege generation that has ever lived but as true as this is our generation has also becoming the hardest one to be spiritual in.

Brother Joshua Iginla of Champions Royal Assembly said if God doesn't wipe out this generation He would have to tender an apology to Sodom and Gommorah. Funny, but true.

Sin has become the order of the day in our world today and it is now much more difficult than ever to live for Christ.

Regardless of the decline of righteousness and the increase in sin and unrighteousness it is very possible to live for Christ today.

I am going to show you how you can live for Jesus in this sinful world. In this study I would show you practical steps on how you can live for Jesus in this sinful world.

1. Close Walk With the Spirit of God

God's Spirit is the foremost personality who can guarantee a righteous walk with God. No man can live for Jesus today without the help of the Holy Spirit.

One of the ministries and core function of the person of the Holy Spirit is aiding believers to live above the law of sin and death.

The basis of our justification is procured through living by the Spirit. The Holy Spirit offers us all that we need to live righteously and godly in this world of sin and sinful cravings.

2. Praying Without Ceasing

"Pray without ceasing" – 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Apostle Paul gives us an insight into the evil that resides in this world when he began outlining the forces we wrestle against in Ephesians 6:12 he gives us a therapy for being victorious in verse 18 of that same scripture.

"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;"

If you would live for Jesus in today's world you must be yielded to prayers. To the Thessalonians, Paul wrote that prayers must be done without ceasing.

Our ability to gain enough spiritual stature to fight against sin and the pleasures of this world is found in how fervent we are in prayers.

Dr. Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre said "Prayer keeps a believer from sin as much as sin keeps a believer from praying". If you fail to yield to prayer then you would be yielding to sin.

3. Hiding The word of God

"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." – Psalms 119:11

David in the scripture above shows us a therapy for living above sin. The word of God which he hid in his heart was an immune for his spirit against the bonds of sin.

Maintaining a decisive stance against sin is not enough to keep you from sinning. You would have to hide God's word in your heart.

Disobedience to God's word is sin so when you have His word hidden in your heart you wouldn't want to sin by going against His words hence when sin comes you're quickened against falling into it.

How do you hide God's word in your heart?

Hiding God's word in your heart is like memorizing it but it is a little bit different. Instead of just memorizing it to be able to quote and recite it, you meditate on it and allow God's Spirit breath life into you through the word you're meditating on.

To hide God's word in your heart you must constantly meditate on the word of God. All of your meditations should be centered on the word of God that way you'd be able to safely entrenched the word of God in your heart which is able to keep you from falling into sin.

4. Separation

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you." – 2 Corinthians 6:17

My dad once asked that can a fish be inside a water and not drink of the water?

My answer was quick. I said No, it wasn't possible. To my bewilderment, I was completely wrong. It is possible for a fish to be inside a water body and not drink of the water.

This concept is applicable to the believer. It is possible to live in this world of sin and not be given to sin.

Separation as we see in 2 Corinthians 6:17 is in two dimensions. You are separated from the world and unto God.

You must maintain a decisive stance against sin to live for Christ. Your separation from the world is authenticated by your joining to God.

There's no standing on the fence. You're either standing separate from the world to God or you are doing otherwise!

5. Join a Family of Like-minded Personalities

"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." – Hebrews 10:25

Christianity strives when it is expressed corporately. Corporate Christianity possesses immense benefits one of which is helping believers gain stability, stature and depth by virtue of fellowship and interactions.

One of the secrets for the exploits of the early church was articulated on the basis of continued fellowshipping among themselves. They were always together either disputing scriptures, praying or breaking bread.

If you would live righteously in this sinful world you must pitch your tent with fellow believers like you. It is an irony for you to claim to be a believer and your clique is made up of immoral personalities.

It is expedient that you camp with people of like-minds like you else you may wander off on your own back to sin.

Living for Jesus Christ in this world is difficult but not impossible. With these steps you do away with every myth that no one can be holy and live holy unto the coming of Christ Jesus!
